The much-anticipated trailer for Singham Again has finally been launched, and it provides an extensive glimpse into the film's plot and character cameos, spanning a full five minutes. Starring Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor in lead roles, this trailer highlights a significant aspect: the film draws parallels between its characters and those from The Ramayana.
SINGHAM AGAIN TRAILER STARRING AJAY DEVGN, KAREENA KAPOOR KHAN
In a dramatic twist, Arjun Kapoor takes on the role of the antagonist, drawing parallels to Ravana, who kidnaps Kareena's character. This sets the stage for Singham's intense rescue mission. The trailer presents Tiger Shroff in a role that reflects Laxman and features Ranveer Singh's character as a nod to Hanuman, culminating in an impressive entry by Akshay Kumar via helicopter, reminiscent of Jatayu.
As expected from a Rohit Shetty film, the trailer showcases signature action elements: flying cars, slow-motion sequences, and larger-than-life stunts. However, this repetition raises concerns about originality, as the action sequences seem to echo previous films rather than introduce fresh ideas.
A notable surprise can be the appearance of Salman Khan as Chulbul Pandey, which was not revealed in advance. While the cop universe offers exciting connections, it does come with its share of plot holes, especially with various actors playing different roles across the films. The trailer, while thrilling, leaves little room for surprises, as it reveals the entire plot, characters, entries of every characters as well.
All in all, Singham Again has some exciting elements and familiar faces that fans will love, but there are mixed feelings about the trailer. While it promises plenty of action and nostalgia, there are concerns if it will bring anything new to the table or will it be just another movie masala made for box office profit rather than good storytelling.
The film is set to hit the theatres on 1 November 2024.
